This year is packed with one-of-a-kind art exhibits in Eureka Springs, demonstrations all over Eureka Springs, performances in Downtown Eureka Springs venues, culinary arts in Eureka Springs Restaurants, free music in the Basin Park, and the wildest street party thrown by the artists and Gallery Owners of Eureka Springs – The White Street Walk.

Art is alive in Eureka Springs! Tucked in the mountains, surrounded by lakes, rivers, streams, and natural healing springs, authentic creative spirits run rampant through the village. Come visit and soak in an art happening that can’t be found anywhere else.

Events May Festival of the Arts

Studio 62 will be hosting a special show “Plein Air Paintings by Jody Stephenson.” Studio 62 is the signature gallery of Ron Lutz and Jody Stephenson, co-founders of Plein Air Painters of Eureka Springs. Every week during painting season (for the past 10 years), Ron and Jody have met with fellow outdoor artists in and around Eureka Springs. Jody’s paintings from these sessions will be on display throughout the month of May, daily except Wednesdays.

Paradise Pottery Big Pot USA – Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays (other times by appointment) Jim Wallace is making the world’s largest pot and the equipment to turn and fire it! Then he’ll take the giant pot on a tour around the country. See the pot in progress from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays at Paradise Pottery, 320 CR 210, 5 miles west of Eureka Springs. Turn right at Blue Spring Heritage Center then 0.3miles. While you’re there, check out Jim’s gallery of more portable ceramic creations. Iris At The Basin Park, 8 Spring Street – May 1 – May 31. Iris at the Basin Park proudly hosts the 14th Annual High School Art Show, a month long opportunity to show-off the creativity of our local high school artisans. This year’s show, Introspective Creativity, features ceramic self-portrait busts sculpted by students in Mrs. Jessica Cummings’ art class.

Wilson & Wilson Folk Art, 23 Spring Street. We will be in Full Bloom this May. Featuring new and original art from the daughter and Mother team of Wilson and Wilson Folkart. Join Blakeley and Sylvia to see what the duo has been working on this winter. New Artwork to fill your home with Happiness. Plus our new delightful fabric art! Keels Creek Winery and Art Gallery, 3185 E. Van Buren. Hosting Holiday Island Art Guild during the whole month of May featuring paintings of various media as well as three dimensional works.

Fusion Squared, 84 Spring Street–May 1-31 During the month of May, Fusion Squared will be featuring the fused glass work of John Rinehardt. Capturing the essence of movement and life in his pieces has consumed him for many years. The techniques he learned to lead him to fused glass, incorporating dichroic glass into his fused glass and stained glass pieces.

Brews 2 Pine Street–Host to the May Festival of the Arts 2016 featured artist John Rankine. Hosting an event for ESSA on the 25th for the Plein Air Painters of Eureka Springs. Music all month long including the regular open mic and trivia nights. (479) 244-0878

Main Stage, 67 Main St, will host a show of the Plein Air Painters of Eureka Springs May 1-31. Enjoy the artistry of “open air” painters inspired by the beauty of our local surroundings. 479-253-8060

Shoppes at Fleece ‘N Flax, 51 Spring Street will celebrate the Fiber Arts during the month of May with the showing of “Art in Sheep’s Clothing”, by featured artist Vicki Hardcastle, Hardcastle Folk Art. Paula McGee, Fiber Artist and Doll Maker and Debbie Davis will share Swedish weaving techniques. Hand hooked rugs and needle felted art pieces so soft you will want to touch, will be on display.

Art Bazaar at the Birdcage, The Birdcage Art Gallery parking lot, will be hosting a local artist’s bazaar, with over 31 local artists represented. Art sale with artist booths and demonstrations by Eureka’s local artists. You will be able to find unique one of a kind gifts and original artworks and crafts.

The Jewel Box, 40 Spring St. The Jewel Box, specializing in art jewelry since 1999, will feature beautiful artistic creations during the first three weekends in May. Handmade and collectible items including hot glass work, wooden boxes, clay animals, batik paintings and feather masks. 479-253-7828

Eureka Fine Art Gallery, #2 Pine Street, features artists who have lived and worked in Eureka Springs for years and have gained regional and national attention. The gallery is run entirely by the artists and offers a variety of fine two and three-dimensional works of art. 479-363-6000

The Spring Street Gallery, 85 Spring Street, opened in early 2015 featuring the work of sculptor Mel Shipley, and painter Denise Ryan. Both are local artists who have shown their work regionally and nationally for many years. The gallery has recently opened a downstairs gallery where many local artists, both two and three dimensional, will have the opportunity to show their work in the coming year. 479-981-1549.

Quicksilver Art & Fine Craft Gallery, 73 Spring Street, features works of about 120 local, regional and nationally known artists on two store levels. Explore artist made jewelry and unique art including one of a kind wall tapestries, wildlife watercolors, photographs, pottery, and a hands-on exhibit of beautiful musical instruments. 479-253-7679
